Bauhaus

*This post was meant to be posted for 07/06/23, I apologize for any inconvenience!*
My second post for today is a poster designed for the Bauhaus created by Herbert Bayer. This poster is an example of Early Modern design because of the very common color palette that we all know as primary. Bayer includes the primary colors along with the color white in this design. Also, because of the unique use of geometric shapes. Some of them are 2 dimensional, and some are closer to a 3-dimensional approach. Something else I noticed is that Bayer uses different hues of the color blue. The darkest is the shadow of the sphere, the middle shade is the background of the poster, and the lightest is the word "bauhaus". The background color does make it a bit difficult to see the information listed, but at the same time, this tactic is able to draw the attention of the viewer to look closer at the poster in order to read the information.
This Bauhaus poster is important to the Early Modernism period because graphic designers tend to focus on making sure that the text used in any design is legible to the audience in question. Bayer breaks the rules and expectations of design and was able to create his own, which resulted in the creation of this intriguing poster. Bayer's tactic is important in the history of graphic design.
