The Skillful Hand

    My next design example by Herbert Bayer is called The Skillful Hand, created in 1944. Something that I appreciate with this design is the different colors and patterns/textures. The viewer is able to see textures in the background and the leaves within the background. 

    The Skillful Hand is an example of Early Modern Design because of the transparent picture of the hand in the piece. Also, because of the experimentation of text that takes up the space of two leaves. Comparing this design with the other design created by Bayer is that Noreen is an advertisement for hair dye and The Skillful Hand is an advertisement on fabrics. The textures really bring out the main theme of this advertisement just like the hair pieces in Noreen.
