Tanzfestpiele Zum 2, Deutschen Tanzerkongress Essen
06/28/2023 (Post 2)
My second post of the day is a design called Tanzfestpiele Zum 2, Deutschen Tanzerkongress Essen (Translated: Dance Festival at the Second German Dance Congress...).
This poster is an example of Early Modern design because of the big, bold, and noticeable type that is included in the upper portion of the design. Also because of photography which creates an intriguing and questioning feeling, especially with the "pie slice" portion of one photograph in particular. The other photograph makes more sense to me since this poster was a design for a dance festival, and the women seem to be in the middle of a dance move.
Tanzfestpiele Zum 2, Deutschen Tanzerkongress Essen (Dance Festival at the Second German Dance Congress...) is an example of Early Modernism because of the arched type the surrounds the shapes and photography included. This is something I did not noticed before, in that not many examples in this blog show type being displayed like this. Again, experienced graphic designers are experimenting to see what makes a design "modern" in that particular time period, just like how graphic designers have worked in today's time.
