Running Water
06/22/2023 (Post 2)
My second post will be based off of my first post for today, which was about a series of posters that were created for the Rural Electrification Administration. This poster in particular is called Running Water.
Running Water is an example of Early Modern design because of the minimalistic design that Beall chose to create. There are no intricate details, only simple shapes. Something that I noticed with Beall's work in particular is that he uses arrows, either as a form of pointing out important information, or to use as a design element. In this case, they are being used as an element because they represent the water coming out of the faucet.
This poster is important to Early Modernism because of Beall choosing to take everyday objects (ex: a house and a water faucet) and create a meaningful design out of it.
