Die Frau Ohne Namen

06/28/2023 (Post 1)

My first post for today is research based on the first graphic designer that was mentioned on this blog, Jan Tschichold. All information will be located in the links.

This design is called Die Frau Ohne Namen (Translated: The Woman Without A Name). This poster is an example of Early Modern design because of the number of photographs that are shown in his work (with this particular design), there are a total of three. While there is a minimal amount of photography, I believe this is what gives this design a more clean and organized approach for the viewer.

Die Frau Ohne Namen is important in Early Modernism because of how a few important elements: photography, typography, color, shape, and line help to create a minimal design while it seems that Tschichold includes a lot of characteristics within this design.
